With 20 players plus unavailable for a mixture of reasons and 3 players dropping out on the morning of the game coach Hagger pulled on a strip along with assistant Mick Quinn, so Tigers went with 13 and gave a gallant account of themselves.
So with 13 on the team sheet things didn't pan out the way of the Tigers with 2 players getting struck in traffic Ossett started with 10 players as 1 had to wait for a baby sitter to arrive to look after his young son so with 10 on the field Tigers took the lead with George Stott taking ball to the line sucking in 3 defenders off loaded to Adam Newby to score in corner, Mick Dyson slotted over 0-6 to Tigers.
Tigers had a simple game plan for first 20 was ever time they got a penalty close to goal they would attempt the 2, and on 8 mins Mick Dyson had chance to extend lead but just missed, 2 minutes later another go to make it 8-0 unfortunately missed again this gave Illing worth a little confidence and went down the field to score kick was missed 4-6.
Tigers still didn't cave but on 6 minutes a massive blow to the Tigers not for just today but could be for a few weeks with Captain marvel Nick Mitchell getting an unwelcomed elbow to the nose which broke instantly and was willing to come back on but for the blood which by all accounts was still pouring all the way to hospital.
Tigers battled and even after another try by Illingworth to make it 10-6, on 18 minutes George Stott once again proving a handful all day crashed over to make it 10 a piece Illingworth score a couple more to make 22-10 at half time.

The second half was too a bridge too far for the Tigers, as the players fatigued Illingworth ran a few more tries in second. Tigers still had chances with Anton Porter being held up over the line, George Stott coming close and also Adam Newby chasing a Hagger kick 70m but kick just going in to touch on the Illingworth 10m line.
Even Scott Lee who was hobbling around the field had a try disallowed, Referee judged Lee had dropped ball even though ball was lodged between his legs and deemed it No Try.
However Coach Hagger was immensely proud of Anton Porter and Roy Whitworth who even though had no substitutes to replace them still carried strongly and even tried 2 carries a set sometimes, along with Jack Bell and Adam Firth who are forming a great partnership on the right never once threw in the towel chasing lost causes and ramping ball up hard each time the call come.
