On what is likely to be a cold day, Otley go to Chester. Fourth placed Saracens are due to play Wharfedale 3.
After securing three wins out of four last month, Otley go to Hare Lane hoping to continue this resurgence with a win against tenth placed Chester. The hosts have won just three of their last nine games and a victory over league leaders Hinckley in December, followed by a defeat to Macclesfield appears indicative of their form. Getting points in the first game of 2018 won’t move Otley, who are eleventh in the league, above Chester but it will help looking down easier. It also helps that Otley had a resounding win against Chester at Cross Green in September when the score was 31-16.
Tom O’Donnell and Alex Beaumont return to the starting 15, and Declan Dunn is on the bench, although Freddie Watson is not playing this weekend. Following the collision Naz Karim had in the Wharfedale match, he was taken to hospital where he had intensive testing including a CT scan. This came back clear and the doctor was happy to release him. Naz will be out of training for a few weeks, but when he does come back he complete a full return to play schedule and hopefully be back on the wing very soon.
For those going to the game – CH3 7DB
Otherwise – Cross Green is the place to be
Go Otley!!
