On a very wet Sunday morning Otley and Moortown had two groups of rather giddy kids that were eager to play.
This began with a real bias towards Otley with Moortown being constantly run over in the first game as the Otley U10s moved forward like a steamroller. Moortown regrouped in the second game and started to retaliate. Their technique was to look for chinks in our armour to try to break through.
Come the final game the gloves were literally off and tensions were high with a couple of hot head incidents that ended in handshakes. This showed Moortown's eagerness to score. Once the anger is channelled into gameplay they'll become a great team.
In the end Moortown were a good team to play against. They evolved and developed during the games rather than sticking with the same approach. Otley put on a strong performance and adapted to new approaches to keep possession of the ball.
We're looking forward to playing them again later in the season!
