I am writing this as Chairman of OBNCC in light of the awful revelations coming out of the Yorkshire CCC racism scandal.
The committee of OBNCC, and I believe the wider membership, wholeheartedly condemn the racism at Yorkshire.
We are also concerned at the potential issues that the inquiry may highlight in the wider cricket community in this country.
To confirm, OBNCC is unequivocally against racism in our own club, our own sport and the community in general. Members should be encouraged we have policies and procedures in the club’s constitution that guard against racism, whether it has occurred in the past or that may occur in the future.
Please take time to read our Equity Policy document, located on this web page under documents.
If there are any concerns, given sensitivities, members may first prefer a confidential discussion with a senior member or committee member.
At OBNCC we can be proud of the ethnically diverse membership which has developed over many years now, and which shows that our sport can be a positive force in the fight against racism.
Cricket for all.
