1. History 1

The club were first formed in 2008 as a spin off from the Newbury College/Thatcham Town Academy side. The Academy were first introduced to the game of Futsal when on a pre season tour in Italy in 2007. With 11v11 football being the main concern of the season and one that would see the Academy achieve National success first by winning the Football Conference Youth League Southern Division only to out do this achievement and win the National Conference Youth League Title meant that little attention was spent on Futsal.

Following the season we were invited into the Hampshire FA Futsal Tournament. This was a league based structure and the squad managed to finish runners up. This was the first real competitive introduction to futsal.

2008-09

The 2008/09 season saw a bigger focus to Futsal with the Newbury College squad taking part in regular competitions and leagues mainly at the @Futsal Centre in Swindon.

Once again we competed in the Hampshire FA Futsal Tournament. We faired much better as the understanding and development of specific futsal skills were acquired. The tournament took place over two days at Itchen College in Southampton and then at Queens Mary College in Basingstoke. After two competitive days we became the new Hampshire FA Futsal Champions. Alex Wall was awarded the player of Tournament.

This qualified ourselves for the Regional championship of which we came Runners Up.

2012-3:

The 2012-13 season saw many new developments for the club. The squad competing in the National Division Two Midlands section finished 2nd behind University of Plymouth. This meant that the squad narrowly missed out on promotion. A great effort by the young squad all linked to Oxford & Cherwell Valley College.

Individually, Ryan Barney and Liam Palfreeman make it through the stages to end up representing England U18's iat a training camp in Newcastle.

2013-14:

A name change to Oxford Futsal Club could see exciting times ahead.
