Season 2011/12 begins in earnest

.....and numbers were low. We know it is still the holidays and some of you are still on holiday, but we need to get the team together soon.

Next training session is Sunday 14th August (12 Noon) and then Wednesdays start back on 17th at 7pm.

Every player needs to help drive recruitment as we have 15 boys on paper and we all know we need to have about 25 to be able to put out a team each week what with subs and call offs.

For those of us who were hoping for an Under 17 team this year - there did not appear to be an appetitie for this across the region and the most important thing is for boys to be playing rugby - so the right decision is to play at both U18 and U16. And while it is difficult to break up a winning formula the Coaches believe it is the right thing to do for individual player development.

Watch SRU website for the announcement of league format for season 2011/12. Meanwhile, get back down to training, start getting fit and getting our heads out of summer holidays and into rugby! Last year was a phenominal effort - an Under 15/16 team dominating the league like they did and winning the Garnock Se7ens - so we need to keep the effort up and look forward to the future.

Those who have not received their Bowl Winners polo tops from last season, please let the coaches know so that you can get one - you earned it.
