Q // You’ve had a week to reflect on a long, stressful season with a happy ending. What are you thoughts on the season?
Brad: “I would definitely agree it has felt long and very stressful at times. From where the club was in the summer we have achieved the main objective of staying in the league.
We have put together a strong squad over the season that has battled and fought to ensure we stayed up.
The squad is capable of pushing on next year and challenging further up the table.”
Q // There is some great lads in that changing room, how good has it been to lead the team?
Brad: “As you say, there are some great lads in the changing room and there has been throughout the season. The changing room has really come together over the last few weeks and months and there is a great buzz in there.
Personally it’s been great leading the team and ensuring we kept the the club in the league. There are leaders in the changing room and strong personalities which help both on and off the pitch.
Every one of the players have played their part!”
Q // You were one of the first ‘big’ signings made by Parkgate. What attracted you to Roundwood?
Brad: “Parkgate is local to where I live which was a factor in the decision, but also the pitch is second to none at this level in my opinion and that also played a part.
I have worked with Nebsy (Scott Mason) before and when he contacted me about joining it wasn’t an easy decision to leave Hallam at the time but I was excited about the challenge and what his plans were for the future.”
Q // Looking onto next season, what are your ambitions for the team?
Brad: “With the squad we currently have and with the addition of a couple, my ambition would be challenging at the top end of the table. The squad also feels this and we want to kick on next season and push up the table that is what we will be aiming to for.
On a final note, I’d just like to thank Albert, Bruce, Gino, Nebsy and everyone connected with the club.”
