On Wednesday 20th December 2017 @ Roundwood & Parkgate FC will once again host the annual NICK WALKER MEMORIAL TROPHY match with kickoff @ 7-00PM with Winterhill School playing Wales High School, weather permitting.
Nick was tragically killed on his way to Wickersley Comprehensive where he was a student. The Nick Walker memorial was set up shortly afterwards and at the moment their current fundraising total stands at just short of £70,000. On 11th March next year (the 10-year anniversary of Nicks accident) a team of 8 cyclists including Tom Walker [Nick’s brother] will attempt to cycle 180 miles from Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, to The Children’s Hospital Charity, Sheffield. They hope this challenge will take them well beyond the £70k mark.

Recent and successful charity challenges include a John O’Groats to Lands’ end cycle (1000 miles in 9 days) in 2012 and a coast to coast run which was 5 marathons in 5 days in 2013. More recently they completed a 12-hour trek of the Yorkshire 3 peaks early in 2017.

There is to be a room named after Nick at a newly refurbished part of the Children’s Hospital Charity, in Sheffield, as thanks for our fundraising efforts over the years which is a great lasting tribute.
