Parkgate are delighted to announce the new signings of strikers Jonathan Fusco (pictured top left) and Ben Thornton (pictured bottom right), midfielder Josh Davies (pictured top right) and returning defenders Tim Whittaker (pictured bottom middle) and Oliver Yates (pictured bottom left).
Previous Teams: Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield FC, Worksop Town, Hallam, Rossington Main.
Fusco went on to say, "I've had some set-backs in recent years with injuries, to the point where I almost fell out of love with the game. Last season I started playing competitively again and it brought back that love for football. When I spoke with Andy (Dawson), he told me what his plans were and what he's looking to achieve this season at Parkgate. I've head great things about the club and the coaching staff here, so I can't wait to get started!"
Andy Dawson added, "Jon comes with a very impressive footballing CV. He's looked highly impressive in the few training sessions we have had so far. He's very skilful with a trick or two."
Previous Teams: Parkgate, Ossett United, Handsworth.
Yates went on to say, "I knew Dawson from when I played alongside him at Parkgate as a 17-year-old, so when he contacted me to come back, I had no hesitation in doing so. The facilities at Roundwood are top class for our level and I feel that we have a great chance of achieving something this season with the squad we have.
Andy Dawson - "I played with Ollie when he came through the ranks at Parkgate aged just 16. He has since gone on to play at Evo-Stick level and I'm delighted to be able to bring him in. He's a very attack minded full-back with excellent work rate."
Previous Teams: Rotherham United, Gainsborough Trinity, Worksop Town, Buxton, Harworth Colliery, Handsworth.
Davies stated, "the pitch at Roundwood is like a carpet, and joining a good squad of players which will hopefully be up thereat the top end of the top this season is a positive."
Andy Dawson - " Josh was the best player on the pitch last season in our game against Harworth Colliery and we tried to bring him in following that game, but we was unsuccessful, but he has finally seen the light and joined the club this summer. He is a strong tackling cental midfielder who can pick a killer pass at any given time."
Previous Teams: Sheffield FC, Staveley Miners Welfare, Hallam, Penistone Church, Rainworth Miners Welfare, Rossington Main.
Whittaker said "returning back to Parkgate was a no brainer for me. After seeing what Dawson and the coaching staff last season and the feeling of the team during pre-season sessions made it an easy choice for me."
Andy Dawson - "He is a tall, strong central defender who can also play left-back. He is left footed, very calm and comfortable on the ball, therefore he's a great addition to our defence."
Previous Teams: Hallam, Maltby Main.
Thornton added, "the squad went on a great run of results since the new management took over last season, and if it wasn't for the bad start to the season, they would have been closer to the top. Having kept everyone and adding the quality we have, there's no reason why we shouldn't be right in the mix at the end of the season, and I wanted to be part of that. The pitch isn't too bad either."
Andy Dawson - "Ben is a big, strong striker who is a handful for opposition defenders. He joins the club from Hallam, despite having other offers on the table from other clubs, so I'm delighted to get this one over the line."
