The Steelmen cause a massive league upset away at second placed Skegness Town.

Parkgate made the 176 mile round trip to Skegness Town on the back of no victories in six. This saw the visitors make a few changes to the squad and a change in shape.

The hosts, Skegness, managed to turn the ball around the back of the Parkgate defence, creating a few half-chances, forcing Dylan Parkin and his defenders into making some crucial saves and blocks.

On the 38th minute, the Steelmen took the lead as goalkeeper, Dylan Parkin, kicked long to Bruno Holden who flicked the ball on with Lewis Whitaker adding a touch before Zak Khalifa ran along the byline before poking the home from an acute angle.

The home side had most of the share of possession in the second-half, and they had a penalty appeal turned down by the referee, after Elliott Simpson turned back into trouble before looking like he tripped his marker but despite the protests, the play continued.

With less then 10 minutes to go, Skegness Town were still searching for an equaliser. Their captain, Liam Parker, managed to get his head to an in-swinging free-kick but his effort cannoned off the bar and fell into the hands of Parkin.
