Football will return to the Menace Arena from 9 July for some fun in the sun.

The men's first team will return to training on 2 July following the trials that are taking place over the next two weekends. The players will then be preparing for the season by playing four friendlies at home over subsequent Saturdays. The new league season will kick off on 13 August (home or away TBC).

We welcome Enfield Borough from north of river for the first match on 9 July. The team groundshares with Wingate and Finchley. They finished 15th in Combined Counties League Division One (Step 6) last season, and have transferred to Eastern Counties League Division One South for the coming season.

Lydd Town will then travel from the Kent coast on 16 July. The Lydders are long-serving members of Southern Counties East League Division One (Step 6), and also finished 15th last season.

We then welcome another seaside team to the Menace Arena. Paulsgrove will travel up the A3 from Portsmouth. They play in the Hampshire Premier League (Step 7), where they finished 7th last season.

Finally, we welcome London Samurai Rovers to Peckham. The club was initially founded in 2017 for the Japanese diaspora. The club was promoted the Combined Counties League Division One (Step 6) for the first time last season, where they finished 17th.

All matches will be free for season ticket holders. Details on how to purchase a season ticket for the new season will be published shortly. Alternatively entry is £4 for adults, and as always, U16s are free.

A programme will be available to cover all matches for only £1, with thanks to Plus 5Ive for their continued sponsorship and to Rhian Wellington for designing. Sadly, Matt Caldwell who has been integral to the programme production over the last two season will be departing London, so is sadly stepping down from his voluntary duties at the Menace. We wish him well for the future.

The Menace Café and Area 51 bar will be open, with Brick Brewery cans from £3. Summary of fixtures:

  • 2pm, 9 July vs Enfield Borough
  • 1pm, 16 July vs Lydd Town
  • 1pm, 23 July vs Paulsgrove
  • 2pm, 30 July vs London Samurai Rovers
  • 2.45pm, 13 August - start of new league season (home or away TBC)
