A message from our President

Morning folks,

I’m delighted to let you know that we have started the fit out of the drama block at Palmers to create our new clubhouse.

Whilst we undertake the work, we have set up a temporary clubhouse with fridges, tables/ chairs and site toilets to get us through to the end of the project (4 to 6 weeks). We’ll have our 1st home game vs Thames on Saturday, 18th September and you are all very welcome to join us, watch the boys play the old enemy and enjoy a cold tin/bottle/glass of wine afterwards whilst getting a sneak preview of the new clubhouse from the inside (yes, we will keep it clean and safe during the fit out!)

On Saturday, 23rd October, we host May & Baker and, after the post-match festivities, we’ll have our QUIZ NIGHT. We fully expect to be up and running in our new clubhouse surroundings with draught beer and a fully functional kitchen, serving food to soak up the booze! For those of us of a certain age, you’ll be pleased to hear that we’ll also have proper plumbed in toilet facilities!!

On Saturday, 13th November, we host South Woodham Ferrers. Following the game and associated shenanigans, we plan to christen the clubhouse with our first disco/dance. As it’s my 60th, I’ll be hiring a DJ and busting some moves (or wind depending how lively I feel!). A chance to dust off that dancing frock and whatever the Mrs wants to wear!

On Saturday, 18th December, we host Burnham. This will be our Christmas themed event and we’ll have all of the usual activities – Santa for the kids, Tombola that’s sure to take care all of your relative’s presents (well, the ones that you don’t like anyway), Christmas Hamper Raffle and much more! Christmas fancy dress is a must!
