Penarth Promotion Push continues

On a bright morning in De Cymru 1, 3rd placed Penarth 2nds went to WIS to face Cardiff and Met 4ths who sit 2nd in the league.

Penarth started with great passion, keen to close the level the 3 point gap between the teams.

Penarth took a lead from a Dan Shardlow short corner, struck low and hard past the Cardiff keeper.

With Penarth taking a 1-0 lead into the second half, it was Cardiff who countered quickly, leveling the scores by flood their final third with a low chip over the advancing Ben Jewess in the Penarth goal.
Penarth, rallying, quickly regained the lead again through Owain Mottram after a quick series of passes from the Penarth defence, found him clear in the Cardiff dee for his second goal in two weeks.
Penarth sealed the game with a rocketed short corner strike from Andy strong beating the Cardiff keeper.

Cardiff pushed hard in the last 10 minutes but resolute defending performance and a man of the match performance from Owen Thomas, saw the result confirmed.

Penarth level on point's, with a game in hand against Pembroke, away, to be played on 19th Feb.

Penarth 2nds are at home to Swansea 4ths next Saturday with a 1345 start at ysgol Stanwell.
