First take a share of the points away to Swindon

In search of their first points of the season, Penarth’s 1st XI travelled to Swindon on one of the wettest days of the year for Gameweek 2. The hosts took the lead within 5 minutes, finishing a flowing move by giving Putt no chance in the Penarth goal. It wasn’t long before Penarth converted from a penalty corner, with Willemite getting the all-important equaliser. Soon after, Penarth started moving the ball around with ease and gained control of the game. This time, Jopson was found unmarked in the circle and rifled the ball home to take a 2-1 lead into half time. Swindon started the second half strongly too, winning a penalty corner and firing home to level the scores at 2-2. Despite two cards for the home side in the closing stages, neither team could get a winner despite a flurry of chances. Given the weather and absence of key players, it was an encouraging point gained for Penarth, who welcome Westbury & United Banks to Stanwell for Gameweek 3.
