Semi final match report

Penrith Eagles U11 vs Penrith Blues U12 second leg of the Joe Fisher Cup 9th May 11.15 KO.
Following a first leg win, the Eagles needed to get out the blocks early and it was Joel Mounsey who who got the ball down, turn and shoot keeping the Blues keeper on his toes.
This clicked the Blues up a notch but Charlie McGuinness and Elliott Dent controlled the midfield to keep the Eagles high up the pitch.
Beau Romano turned his man well to go on a darting run down the left, across to Jack Taylor who got a lovely strike goal bound but was saved, the rebound was saved well also by the Blues keeper to keep the score 0-0.
The Eagles pushed again and where awarded a free kick just outside the box, Joel swung the free kick goal bound but the Blues Keeper was there again.
A good clearance by Lewis Ritson who found Jack, his pass through to Joel then knocked through to the on running Beau who finished well to give the Eagles the break through 1-0 going into the half time talk.
The Blues came out the faster and put the Eagles under pressure but Lucas Thompson Marshalled the back well.
Time for the Eagles to up a gear, Jack made a good run and placed a nice ball for Jake Sowerby who’s strike was just saved, then came the turn of Oliver Nicolson who was just wide.
The Eagles received a free kick 30yards out, Charlie Price stepped up, took the free kick and a finger tip save just denied the goal.
The Eagles had a flurry of strikes from Jake, Jack and Oliver but some how the Blues managed to keep the Eagles to a 1-0 lead.
The Eagles kept compact to see out the game and move through to the final of the Joe Fisher Cup on Sunday the 30th May.

A good solid performance and unlucky not to score more but very proud and well done for getting through to the final, looking forward to it.
