Perthshire to play Royal Scot's Dragoon Guards in tribute to first ever match


Rugby history to repeat itself on the North Inch

In 1869, for Perth Academicals first ever rugby match they lined up on the North Inch against the locally stationed Scots Grey's. In a nod to history, in this 150th Anniversary year, their successor teams Perthshire RFC and the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards (now based at Leuchars) meet this Saturday 9th March. The North Inch will see the current players from both teams partcipate in a friendly exhibition match as part of Perthshire Rugby's Anniversary celebrations.

Timings:

-The match will kick-off at 11am on North Inch
-Afterwards the teams will head to Club Sponsor That Bar for refreshments and to watch the Six Nations matches (Wales v Scotland kicks-off at 2:15pm).

All are welcome to come and watch the boys relive history playing the modern game and to join the teams & whole Club supporting Scotland in That Bar. Children are welcome & welcome to That Bar if accompanied by an adult. Food will be on sale.
