Last season's PRUFC under-15 Girls team is in the running to be named 'Junior Team of the Year' at the Guinness National Rugby Awards.
They're one of six teams that have been shortlisted for the prestigious honour and will be competing with boys teams from Devizes, near-neighbours Huntingdon, Market Rasen/Louth, Tonbridge Juddians and Warlingham at the star-studded, glittering presentation ceremony at Twickenham in August.
Last season saw the Boro girls win eight tournaments/festivals, including one in France, and although the National Cup narrowly eluded them, they did beat both of the finalists during the season.
Ten of the squad were called up for East Midlands, who were unbeaten all season, and three of the girls were named in the forthcoming season's 'England Centre of Excellence' programme.
Team manager Simon Potter, who set up the girls' team four years ago, said: "We are so lucky to have the most wonderful coaches, the most talented players, the most dedicated parents and the most supportive club management that any team could wish for. It's a real achievement to have got where we have. If we are lucky enough to go one step further and win that award, it'll belong to everyone connected with the team and the club."
