The home team got off to a quick start scoring an unconverted try. Peterborough were soon to respond following some side-stepping show-and-go running from Steph Warlow and a pass to winger, Emily Senior, who was able to score the try under the posts. Converted by Zoe Wright. Each team then took it in turns to score tries with the conversions keeping Peterborough ahead at half time.
Half time: Five Ways 15 - 19 Peterborough
Second half saw Five ways score the first try. Peterborough forwards were working hard to get the ball up the pitch, with the backs mixing up play to penetrate the fast Five Ways defence. Boro made the most of a penalty with El Facer taking a quick ball and Emily was able to get over the line for her second try. Five ways responded with two tries but Boro knew there was still time to get the win. Full back, Zoe, was in support of the winger and got on the end of an off-load to score. Both teams were beginning to tire with injuries and multiple scrums eating up the last of the game.
Full time: Five Ways 32 - 29 Peterborough
Well done to El Facer and Emily Senior for scoring their first tries for Peterborough ladies.
Our thanks to Five Ways for the match and to our match official. Coach, Rich Parsons, picked Joss and Steph as his forward and back of the match.
