2. The Club's Facilities

PRFC's facilities have become increasingly sought after over the years and have been hired out for a wide variety of non rugby-related events, both by club members (who are eligible for a special discounted rate) and others otherwise unconnected to the Club.

We have also been host to a number of special events, such as our own MusicField music festival, Summer Balls, and annual "Pub 7s" tournament plus the Royal Navy Rugby League "State of Origin" match and the UK Fijians 7s & 10s tournament.

The clubhouse provides a large bar, kitchen and social areas on the first floor, (accessible for mobility impaired persons via a stairlift). This is used extensively for various functions, including our sponsored luncheons that are held prior to every 1st XV home league match and to which all are welcome.

A wide balcony, accessible from pitch-level and from the bar area, overlooks the playing areas and provides a preferential vantage point from which to view the 1st XV pitch.

On the ground floor of the two storey block you will find a fully equipped Strength & Conditioning Gym, our pitch-accessible "In Touch" Cafe, Club shop, toilets (inc. disabled), and storage facilities.

Our single-storey extension (completed with substantial financial support from EHDC, the RFU and RFF) contains six more superb changing rooms, all with their own integral shower areas, a large mens toilet facility, accommodation for match officials, a physiotherapy, suite and laundry , making the facilities amongst the best in the region.

In addition to the four full-size pitches visible from the balcony, (two of which are floodlit to facilitate evening matches / training), there are a number of dedicated mini pitches to both the front and rear of the Clubhouse.

Due to the fortunate composition of the land at Penns Fields, all the playing and training areas are extremely well drained and are thus still playable even when other clubs are in a less fortunate position due to inclement weather.
