What are the Colts aiming to do in the 2014/15 season and how are we going to do it?

You may know the Colts’ coaching team already, having met us last season or during pre-season training, but we wanted to start this season with a brief introduction as to who we are and what we hope to help you achieve this season. Hopefully you will take up our offer to join your fellow Colts in what will be an enjoyable and productive season for all.

Our key purpose is to create the right environment for you to thrive as individuals and as a squad. As the season progresses we will seek to earn and maintain your respect as we work to develop your knowledge, skills, confidence and leadership for this season and the future. Our brief from Stuart Barden, the Chairman of the club, is to create an environment in which you can enjoy your experience of training and playing for the Colts. The benefit for the club is simple; if you enjoy playing for PRFC you are more likely to remain at/or return to the club as you grow older.

Currently we are aiming to run one Colts squad during the 2014/15 season, but if you bring all your mates along and we get sufficient numbers for two we will work to provide game-time for all.

Hants RFU has again left the U19 age-group in the Colts, (U17-U19). Colts aged 17-years and above can play for the senior sides, (on Saturday), with appropriate permissions. However, whilst we wish to support our senior sides we have ensure that we have a squad for Sunday; more on this when we next get together.

We want every player to get game-time through the season and so have committed to one team, rotating players to ensure all play, BUT every player will have to show us they are committed to the 5 CSFs, (SADCaT), to be selected regularly.

Karl Bevan – Head Coach
Provides direction and leadership for both the coaching team and players. Will be the coaching lead on Sundays, (for matches or training), and will provide coaching and analysis. Karl is accountable for the Colts overall performance and achievements this season.
He needs you to turn up, play and enjoy the game!

Martin Banasik – Skills Coach
Will take Tuesday evening training, providing tailored sessions to help you develop your skills, knowledge and ability to apply our game plan.
He needs you to attend the Tuesday Night sessions in good numbers so he can improve your skills using our game plan.

Paul Harrington – Colts Manager
Ensures you are all RFU registered and paid-up club members. Facilitates our activities by providing us with kit, fixtures and officials. He needs your contact details to keep you informed of events and for you to keep an eye on messages and respond quickly.

WE really look forward to working with you so come and play…
