The 1st XV will hopefully be back in action this week agaisnt North Tawton in a league match, lets hope no more water logged pitches stop us from playing any more rugby. The senior colts players will be back in action for the 1st xv after stepping down for a couple of games to aid the learning colts side, who are improving every week. However the older lot have had too many weeks off rugby so lets hope that doesnt affect the way we play this Saturday. North Tawton are a strong side in the league and have a very strong and powerfull pack of 8, so Oaks fowards are going to need to front up to the challeneg of traveling all the way up there to take on one of the largest packs in the league. In the last meeting we managed to get the bonus point agaisnt Tawton at our own place, but this game is expected to be much harder.

Looking past this Saturday, there is a busy few weeks ahead of us barring any cancelled games. We have only three more league matches to play, South Molton home, Tamar Saracens away, and Plymouth Barbarians home. We also have a semi final cup game agaisnt Saltash on the 19th. On top of that we still have a junior vase semi final to play agaisnt South Molton, which could potencially lead into a final. There are many big games to play, and the match that must be seen as the biggest game of the year is Barbarians home which is our last league game of the season.

We could be on course to end on a high of a very good season. A third place finish in the table is very likely now that we are ahead of OPM's by a good few points with a game in hand. A second place finish is even possible, however it seems unlikely with the way Barbarians and Wessex are playing. We could also potencially win two cups, the junior vase, and the RNEC cup.

For a team who failed to register a win last season in the Devon/Cornwall league, and a complete new look team at the beginning of the season with nine senior colt players in the side, it is a very big achievement for the club, and is a strong "foundation season" for the future of Oaks rugby.
