Jay Z stars as young guns progress to semi finals

With the group evenly poised it was a crucial game for the Pool Piranhas with the potential to top the group due to superior run rate. The Rhydding Rattlesnakes were the visitors who had not lost a game in the group as of yet. The young Pool side were more than ready for the game with a great buzz in the dressing room and the home fans behind our backs.

Mossy won the toss (as usual) and the Piranhas batted first. Jay Z and Will Cooper opened up. The boys got off to a great start before Coops was out for 10 and the score 34-1 off 3. Belly in at 3 who soon departed for 4 caught at square leg. Dingle in at 4 and Jay Z carried on scoring at a rate of knots. Dingle went for 10 also and then Pool never really got going. Only Z man batted really well and after Hutch, Boggie, Cam and Mossy went it was 8-110. Jay Z was then out for a fine crafted 89. The Piranhas ended up 131 all out.

The lads took the field full of beans. Every time the Piranhas come on to field the noise levels are that of a Boeing 747 and it seems like there is always a chance of a wicket. Dingle and Mossy opened up and Dingle got the break early doors. Mossy bowled tight then Dingle snared another. Jay Z replaced Mossy and Ollie Boggie replaced Dingle. Both bowlers bowled beauty. Jay Z picking up wickets regularly and Boggie grabbed a couple too. Jay Z ended with 4 wickets with a great spell and one of them an awesome catch by Belly at 1st slip. Boggie got the key wicket of ringer Charlie Best and also Robbie Oldham and Rhydding never got going.

Cooey and Will Pallister changed the bowling and Will made the break with a huge skier taken by Mossy. Will then grabbed the final wicket with a beauty ball that clipped off stump and the Piranhas were ecstatic.

Jay Z 4 wickets and Dingle, Boggie and Pally 2 a piece to send the Piranhas through to the semi final at home against Burley on 9th July. A top quality performance from I'm sure the youngest team in the competition. A tough test in the next round will not phase the young guns as they look to reach the final.

Get down and support the lads 9th July.

SNAP SNAP!!
