Port Vale are looking to employ a new Youth Development Phase Coach Part Time for this Upcoming Season.

Job Title: Youth Development Phase Coach

Department: Academy

Location: Northwood training complex, Keelings Road, Stoke on Trent, ST1 6PB

Accountable: Academy Manager /Head of Coaching and Lead Development Coach

ROLE SUMMARY

To coach and develop elite players within the Youth Development Phase (u12s - u16s) following the Port Vale Academy Action plan for elite player development. This will follow the academy schedule of work, individual player learning plans and coaching syllabus as part of preparing players for elite professional football at the highest level.

Main duties and Responsibilities

• To assist the Lead Youth Development Coach in the delivery of the youth development performance plan, schedule of work and coaching syllabus

• To assist the Lead Youth Development Coach in ensuring that players graduating to the professional phase do so with a high degree of technical and tactical ability

• Coach within the u12s to u16s Youth Development Phase

• Maintain an Elite training environment to ensure that players graduating from the phase at Under 16s have built upon their core ball mastery skills, and are able to apply individual skills appropriately in a team setting, with a growing tactical awareness in their role in the team

• Maintain a Coach to Player ratio of 1:10

• Elite training environment to deliver coaching in the Development Phase with a four corners approach to learning

• Maintain a weekly training reporting process with the Head of Coaching

• Deliver group and individual weekly learning objectives/ DISCS

• Assist in the evaluation of the weekly learning objectives/ DISCS

• Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of players working within the Youth Development Phase, meeting the needs of the English Football League and use of Premier League PMA system

• Liaise at the request of the Lead Youth Development Coach or Academy Manager with parents of the Academy Players within the Youth Development Phase

• Assist in the reporting and monitoring of performance, recording, reporting and evaluation of Academy Players in the Youth Development Phase within their six weekly cycles

• Assist in the monitoring and supervision of the games programme

• Take part in all relevant meetings including multi-disciplinary meetings, in service training, parents meetings at the request of the Academy Manager , Head of Coaching and Lead Youth Development Coach

• Show a continuous commitment to personal development through relevant bodies and courses

Technical Skills and Knowledge

Essential Requirements:

• UEFA A or B Licence
• FA Youth Modules Award
• Must attend at least 5 hours of in-service training to be provided by the Football Association every year
• Must undertake Continuous Professional Development as organised by the Club
• Must undertake a EFAIF First Aid for Sport course every 3 years
• Must have current FA Safeguarding certificate
• Position subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service criminal record checks

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working previously in a permanent capacity within professional football

• Experience of working with a variety of schoolboy age groups
