Bar have an outstanding record at at Park Avenue over the last 22 years and go in go there in good form, nine games unbeaten and their last defeat was against West Herts in a high scoring encounter at The David Lawrence memorial Ground.
In that game, the visitors were indebted to a fabulous 96 from Callum Taylor and an excellent 84 from Arjun Patel coupled with some long handled stuff towards the back of the innings, saw them reach 297 from their 50 overs. In response, Bar got off to a solid start, thanks to 50's from Steve Gale and James Seward and 45 from Reece Hussain. Bar looked set to make a record chase as a rapid partnership between Sri Lankans, Ashen Kavinda and Thilan Walallawita saw the target down to 42 at a run a ball but Ian Gurney had other ideas picking up 6 for 34 and West Herts snuck home by 24 runs.
This year West Herts have had a really good campaign. They reached the Herts T20 final and were a couple of runs shy of beating Harpenden and they have been comfortably clear of the bottom three all summer and sit mid-table and in no danger of being involved in an end of season playoff, like they have been for the last couple of summers.
Team News
