Saturday sees the penultimate weekend of the 2024 season with Hertford coming to the David Lawrence Memorial Ground and they come safe in the knowledge that they should be safe for another season. For Bar they have to win and hope Shenley can do them a favour in beating Harpenden heavily. However 9 points for Bar ensures a runners-up spot.
The games with Hertford have always been competitive. Their last win at PB was on the opening day of the 2021 season. Earlier on in the season Bar tapped off one of the biggest chases they have had since ECB League cricket started. Hertford scored 267 for 9 from their 60 overs. Jigar Mehta snaring his best PBCC bowling figures of 6/67 but a brilliant 110 from James Seward, 60 from Steve Gale and 33 from Charlie Scott saw Bar scamper home with 4 overs and a bit to spare.
