The Potters Bar derby and Old Owens come to the David Lawrence Memorial Ground looking for their first ever win here and their first win of the season.

Upon reaching the Premier League through a playoff win at North Mymms, its been tough for the old boys team. They have lost all 5 matches they have started. Thus far they have been hammered by Harpenden and Totteridge, well beaten by West Herts last time out but lost by just 10 runs to Radlett and 8 runs to Broxbourne, so with a little more luck they may be looking at a couple of places higher than they sit at the moment.

Batting is a clearly an issue for them as they do not have anyone within the top 30 run scorers in the division but they are always a danger with the ball and in Jake Wickham and Jake Bloxham have two good new ball bowlers. Ex North Mymms allrounder Rhys Carter sits 5th on the ladder with 9 wickets taken, just ahead of Bar's Jigar Mehta.

Last time the two sides played at Bar saw a dismal old game of cricket. Bar crabbed to 121 all out and Owens had 60 overs to get them and finished 9 down , 1 short. Not many would forget the only other league encounter at Bar. Final day Bar needed to match Harpenden's result to win the league and only made 174 from just shy of 50 overs. Steve Gale's 3-hour 49 and 37 extras got Bar in with a chance.

The visitors were indebted to a fine 65 from Trystan Kennedy but panic set in and a brilliant running catch from James Seward in a great last over from Jigar Mehta saw Bar home by just 2 runs and saw them finish as league champions.

Bar are set to be at full pelt for the first time this season as Henry Hawkins returns from missing last week due to a school game. Its taken 7 weeks and wont happen for a little while after this date, so lets enjoy it whilst we can as next weekend will look a lot different.
