Potters Bar U11 win opening game of season

After winning the toss Potters Bar batted and made good progress through Arman Malik (27) and Henry Fishpool (36) putting on 63 for the first wicket. Both were particularly brutal on anything pitched short. Arman, after looking set ran himself out leaving Henry to help steer the innings to a respectable 107 from the allocated 18 overs.

Arman and Peter Pezzarini opened the bowling well with Peter taking a wicket in his first over caught well by William Winfield. Dylan Johnson (on debut) and William were 1st change and both bowled nicely with William taking 2 wickets. Jake Wall (on debut) Ashlin Whitaker and Noah Nicholls all bowled well with Ashlin and Jake taking wickets. There was some excellent fielding notably from Alex Lytrides, Noah, Dylan and Tom Reynolds (despite being injured before the game). Nick Hartley again kept very tidy behind the stumps with only 1 bye. This excellent fielding performance successfully restricted the Southgate innings to 75.

The bowling was very pleasing especially as it was the 1st game and great commitment in the field with all catches being taken.
