Starting the game on the front foot and attacking well down the right and left sides of the pitch. Bar managed to limit their opposition to counter attacks which were well dealt with by the whole of the defence. On occasion giving away short corners but looking strong when defending them. Bar passed efficiently and the running on and off the ball allowed many chances to be created. Half time score 0-0.
The second half started with a change in formation to allow some more attacking play for Bar. This worked well with plenty of possession in the attacking third but failing to test the keeper. Then in the 45th minute a break away by the opposition. Some miscommunication between GK and Defender led to an easy tap in on the back post. Bar then pushed forward to try to equalise and piled on the pressure. Having to defend several short corners in a row and building attacks from the back. Then another counter attack when Bar committed more players forward to attempt to equalise with about 5 minutes remaining. The counter attack was effective and with the keeper rounded the ball was slotted into the goal. 2-0
PB ladies 2’s are having an unlucky time in front of goal of late but thoroughly deserving a result in this and the previous 2 games. With the whole team playing great hockey, a goal or two never looks too far away along with some much deserved points for the Bar.
