We are delighted to announce the acquisitions of Aransibia, Chinua Cole, Sharman and Tajbakhsh!

Ahead of the start of our season at the LA Construction Stadium against Corinthian Casuals tomorrow, we can confirm the signings of four new players to Lee O’Leary’s squad!

Devonte Aransibia signs for the Scholars having been a product of Norwich’s academy. The midfielder will be hoping to assert a place in the starting eleven and have a positive start to life as a Potters Bar player and has been promising so far in pre-season whilst playing as a trialist.

Chinua Cole, the second Cole to be registered to the club joining newly appointed club captain Keagan Cole, is also making his debut season for Bar, having played for Harrow Borough last in the 2020/21 season. The 27-year-old left back will bolster the numbers available to Lee in defensive positions and will hope to make his mark on the side, having attained 117 career appearances. The experience brought to the squad by Cole will surely be of use to the team this season.

Young defender Jaden Sharman has also joined the Scholars from Northwood! The teenager will be able to continue his development with Bar, having featured for the First Team at Northwood in the past 2 seasons, making 12 appearances last season despite the number of fixtures played being significantly reduced as a result of COVID and the subsequent curtailment of the season. Becoming a regular starter at Northwood is indicative of Sharman’s ability to adapt to playing at a high level despite being one of the younger players who will now be playing at the LA Construction Stadium. Sharman’s decision to step up to the Isthmian Premier Division also makes his ambition and desire to succeed evident, which will be of use to the Scholars next season.

Finally, a familiar face returns to Bar in the form of Aryantaj Tajbakhsh! Also known as Aryan, the midfielder re-joins Bar for his third stint at the club, having played for us in the 2008/09 season and in 2013. The experienced central midfielder is also well known for putting challenges in and doing whatever he can to win the ball back. His last club was Dulwich Hamlet in 2019 and will be hoping that he can have a positive impact in what has become a very competitive part of the pitch for the Scholars.

We cannot wait for the season to start tomorrow and are excited to see all of our new signings in action, as well as seeing the Bar Army in full force once again!
