Potters Bar Town and Wingate & Finchley played out a goalless draw at the Orbital Fasteners Stadium.
Possession largely remained in the hands of the home side for the first 10 minutes of the local derby - a period that lacked chances until a superb run from Brandon Adams; leaving two players on the ground only to drag his shot wide.
Shortly after a Potters Bar goal was disallowed, Wingate begun to reek the rewards of former Scholar Ore Bello's speed with a series of chances down the left flank. With an attempt to block the restart, the book was brought out with an early card for Wingate's 9.
The 33rd minute brought a fantastic block in the battle between Steel and Bello. Cian Moore's save in the final minute was pushed towards Bello who couldn't keep his shot on target.
Back and forth chances characterised the second half and a 60th minute clearance from Solomon Sambau garnered applause from the crowd.
In a quick succession of events, Harry Brant played a lovely ball to Ben Casey, whose shot was smoothly collected before a firm challenge from Rickie Hayles at the other end of the pitch. A swooping save from the Wingate keeper denied Ronan Ismaili a chance to raise the Bar.
A shot from The Blues clattered into the bar, then the post and Sambou landed himself in the book with a risky challenge.
5 minutes of added time saw a scrappy push for a lead from both sides and the fixture finished 0-0.
