Potters Bar Town (known as The Scholars due to its academic origins) are a Part-Time professional football club founded in 1960, and currently play in the Isthmian Premier League (7th tier of the English football pyramid). The club has had a successful history having never been relegated as it guided its way through the leagues over the past 5 decades.

Job Summary:
The Commercial Manager (Part-Time and Full-Time considered), reporting directly to the club Board, will play a crucial role in driving the commercial success of Potters Bar Town. This dynamic and engaging position demands a highly motivated individual with a proven track record in sales and strong networking capabilities. The primary responsibilities include generating commercial revenue through sponsorship, advertisement, and building solid relationships while contributing to the club's long-term strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Commercial Sales: Develop and execute strategies to boost commercial revenue through
sponsorship deals, advertising partnerships, and other income-generating opportunities.
2. Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing sponsors, partners, and potential clients. This includes regular communication, providing excellent customer service, and identifying growth opportunities.
3. Networking: Leverage your network and contacts to identify new commercial opportunities, both locally and regionally.
4. Sales Expertise: Apply your proven experience in sales to meet and exceed revenue targets. Utilise your knowledge of sales techniques and market trends to drive growth.
5. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Board and key stakeholders to align commercial activities with the club's short-term and long-term goals. Contribute to the development and execution of the club's overall business strategy.
6. Community Engagement: Support and strengthen the club's community links and projects, demonstrating a commitment to the local community and the club's social responsibility.
7. Collaboration: Work seamlessly with other departments within the football club, including marketing, events, and operations, to ensure the successful implementation of commercial initiatives.
8. Independence: Manage your tasks independently and efficiently, taking initiative in identifying and pursuing new opportunities.
Qualifications:
1. Proven record in commercial sales, with a strong background in sponsorship and advertising deals.
2. Excellent networking and relationship-building skills, with an extensive network of relevant contacts.
3. Strong understanding of the sports industry, particularly in football, and familiarity with market trends.
4. Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
5. Strategic mindset, capable of contributing to long-term planning.
6. High level of motivation and self-discipline to excel in the role.
7. Community-oriented, demonstrating a commitment to supporting and engaging with local
communities.
8. Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
