Singing in The Rain at Stortford

A magnificent performance saw the Scholars come away with the points in emphatic fashion as they betterd the atrocious conditions to leave the Bararmy "singing in the rain"

Top scorer Josh Hutchinson opened the scoring on 36 minutes. A cross from Ben Ward-Cochrane, following a great through ball from Chris Doyle, found the striker in the box and he swept it past the 'keeper to put the Scholars in front .

Brad Sach notched the second, first to react as the home 'keeper spilled a George Craddock shot ,tucking the ball away neatly around the scrambling Burbidge to make it 2-0 six minutes into the second half.
The home side struggled to get back into the game but looked dead and buried as, after a melee in the box involving shots from Keagan Cole and Josh Hutchinson, former Stortford man George Craddock drove home to make it three.
Stortford briefly found hope with a goal from Shomari Barnwell converted a looped header following a cross from the left.
That hope was rapidly dashed as The Scholars sealed the win with a typical break. Thomas Gogo drove at the defence and passed to Hutchinson who unselfishly laid it off to Ben Ward - Cochrane to tap into an empty net and leave the visiting fans singing songs of Brazil.
