Playing top quality opposition from across the North West, Poulton Vics Dortmund U11s reached the final having remained undefeated during the group stages. A hard-fought final in extreme heat against a brilliant Burscough side ensued. The boys played out an entertaining 0-0 draw, before holding their nerve to win the trophy in a nerve-wracking penalty shoot-out.
The day was made even more special as the team had a guest player, Sutton from California, USA who was in the country to gain valuable experience of how the English game is played. As a club we are pleased to help support and develop a young boy's dream of playing in England.
On participating in this particular tournament, Paul Greenslade said: “We are so proud to support a very important issue of eliminating knives from the streets, a huge well done to Paul Bentley and the team for what was a fantastic event”
