An Exciting Summer both on and off the pitch!

Ahead of our return to the Northern Premier League Premier Division, the Board of Directors – Chaired by Non-League stalwarts Tony Zeverona and Vice-Chair Joe Gibiliru, would like to take the opportunity to update supporters of the many positive engagements happening both on and off the pitch this summer.

Everyone in attendance at our historic Play-Off Final victory at the start of May will agree that Ste Daley and his backroom team have built an exciting and dynamic squad of players, however with our promotion comes the inevitable need to strengthen and solidify. Some players move on to other opportunities whilst new faces come in. We are delighted that a number of our key players have committed their immediate futures to the club; Mitch Allen, Nathan Koehler, Francis Smith & John Murphy (with perhaps one or two more, keep your eyes peeled Cables fans) have all signed contracts for 2024/25. Each played a pivotal role in our promotion and offer a strong, stable spine of the team from goalkeeper through to attack. Further to this, the squad has been bolstered with the addition of experienced players; Michael Carberry, Andy Scarisbrick & Charlie Doyle as well as exciting talents Brandon Newell & Ben Elliott.

Perhaps the most exciting news of the summer was the confirmation that Manager Steven Daley and Assistant Manager Peter Cumiskey have both signed contracts with the club for the upcoming season, a measure of both their commitment to Cables and ours to them.
Season Ticket sales are already well into treble figures and we sincerely thank our supporters for getting right behind the team and committing to a season ticket, there is still time to purchase your season ticket which guarantees a discount versus matchday pricing HERE

The pitch has been re-seeded for the coming season, and we are grateful to our ground maintenance team, co-ordinated by Club Director, Graham Black – for their hard work during the off-season; which includes not only their work on pitch maintenance but remedial work to the stadium to ensure our home is looking fresh and tidy for the new campaign.

Directors Ian Wright, Chris Melling and Mick Flaherty continue to explore all avenues for sponsorship and revenue. Be it through new or existing sponsors, local or national businesses, perimeter boards or match day sponsorship, we are keen to generate revenue for the club to allow us to continue our progress on the pitch, but also to flourish as a community asset. We are pleased to be hosting local business networking events at our stadium over the summer, with the next event scheduled for Thursday 18th July. Club Director Michael Corless will represent Prescot Cables at this event.

Our Junior Football section, headed by Michael Corless is now one of the largest on Merseyside, with more than 25 teams across all age groups as well as 4 new girls teams – we would like to thank all JFC Managers and Coaches, committee members and team secretaries for their efforts in running this invaluable asset, which offers our young members the opportunity to grow and develop within the sport whilst also learning important life skills such as teamwork.

We are delighted with how we have grown our social media presence over the last 12 months, overseen by Directors Lee Fisher and Richard Tigwell. We now have over 26,000 followers across all channels as well as almost 1,000 subscribers to our website – keeping you right up to date with the latest goings on at the club. Similar positive statistics are associated with our Radio Channel and Matchday Programme ‘The Walloper’, both of which have seen record engagement with over 13k listeners and 11k readers last season.

Our Matchday Operations Team, led by Richard Tigwell – continues to grow, and we were pleased that our appeal for additional stewards garnered a lot of interest, we look forward to welcoming new volunteers to the club on matchdays for these safety critical roles.

We know that our supporters are as excited for the upcoming campaign as we are, we also know that the NPL Premier will be a tough, tough league. But, together – fans, volunteers, Directors - we can push Prescot Cables to new heights and make even more memories along the way.

Thank You for your support.
