Anthony Donaldson. Tony Donaldson. The Scouse Kaka.
Surely one of the best players to have graced the hallowed turf of Hope Street in many years. In a little over 17 months at Prescot Cables, Tony has endeared himself to supporters, club volunteers and his teammates in a way that few others have done before. His energy, tenacity and vision have made him a firm favourite amongst Cables fans.
Tony has an exciting opportunity to live, work and play some football in the United States of America, and will therefore not be returning to PCFC for the 2024/25 season. Whilst we are naturally saddened to see a player of Tony's talent depart the club, he embarks on his journey with our enormous gratitude and best wishes. It goes without saying, that as and when Tony returns home, he will always be welcome at Prescot Cables FC.
Tony joined the Pesky Bulls in February 2023 from Ramsbottom United as Ste Daley's first signing as Cables Manager. Donaldson made an immediate impact to the team, memorably scoring twice against Mossley to hand Daley his first victory as boss. A near ever present since, Tony made a total of 59 appearances in Amber & Black, scoring 7 goals. His contribution to our promotion last season was rewarded when he was named in the official Northern Premier League West Division Team of the Season, alongside midfield partner James Foley.
Tony, we will miss you, but wish you nothing but good luck on your new adventure in the States.
