Prescot Cables would like to update supporters regarding changes implemented at the Joseph Russell Stadium ahead of the new campaign which kicks off on Saturday 5th August when we host Eccleshill United in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round. Eagle-eyed supporters may have already noticed these during our pre-season games or on our social media channels.
Entry:
We are pleased to announce that we can now accept card payments upon entry to the stadium as well as cash. Supporters wishing to pay by card should head to the designated turnstile, please ask a steward if you need assistance with this. A cash only turnstile will also be open for fans who wish to pay by this method.
As we start our campaign in the FA Cup, all supporters will be required to pay on entry to the stadium for this fixture. A reminder of our match day prices for 2023/24:
Matchday Programme:
Prescot Cables are switching to a digital only format for our Matchday Programme ‘The Walloper’ for the new season. No print copies of The Walloper will be available to purchase. Matchday programmes will be published across our social media channels on matchdays and will also be available via QR code which will be visible at numerous locations around the stadium. We are pleased to be able to bring you The Walloper free of charge.
Food and Soft Drinks:
Hot food and beverages will be provided by an outside caterer this season. This was trialled towards the end of the last campaign and feedback was extremely positive. Our snack bar will now become a ‘tuck shop’ selling sweets, crisps, cold drinks and more; giving you an increased choice of food and drink options at the Joseph Russell Stadium
The Bar:
By far our biggest improvement over the summer has been to our bar. Feedback from supporters has been overwhelmingly positive and we are thrilled by the comments we have received about the speed and efficiency of service due to the new layout. Out goes the low roof, enclosed space and dark panelling and in comes a light, spacious and lengthened bar area offering Madri, Guinness, Staropramen, Carling, Worthingtons, Strongbow, Coors and Aspells on draught as well as a large choice of wines, bottled ales and spirits to suit all tastes. We are certain that the new bar will allow you to spend less time queuing for your drink and more time enjoying the action on the pitch.
Our Function Room is available for hire, please contact: info@fortisvenues.co.uk for more information.
Extra Time:
Having proved a popular addition to matchdays last season, we can confirm that #ExtraTime sessions will return on a regular basis for 2023/24. #ExtraTime allows supporters and players alike to have a post match drink in the clubhouse whilst enjoying a live music set from the best local artists. Who knows, we may even throw in a Punk Poet or two for good measure!... Keep a look out on our socials for details of upcoming #ExtraTime sessions.
Boardroom:
In addition to our bar, the boardroom at the Joseph Russell Stadium has also had a refurbishment with the installation of draught pumps, a brand new bar akin the to one in the main clubhouse and additional worktops and cupboard space.
If you are interested in Matchday or Matchball Sponsorship, which grants access to our boardroom, please speak with Club Director, Mick Flaherty.
Utilities:
You will notice that the pitch has been re-laid over the summer and there has been significant investment in its upkeep by our venue management company; Fortis Venues Ltd. We are sure you will agree that the pitch looks magnificent and it is our hope that the pitch will remain in excellent condition as we reach the winter months.
Off the field, the central heating and plumbing has been serviced and is in good working condition - offering you somewhere warm to sit during those cold winter afternoons!
PA System:
A new Public Address and sound system has recently been installed at the stadium to allow you to hear tannoy announcements with greater clarity as well as offering an improved listening experience for our pre/post match music and entertainment.
Prescot Cables Radio:
Wherever possible we shall endeavour to bring you match commentary of our home and away games courtesy of our Matchday Media team; Ben, Lee, Jeff and Chris (plus the occasional guest commentator!). Details of how to tune in can be found on our social media channels on matchdays or be downloading the free Mixlr app HERE
A great deal of hard work and effort has gone in to making these improvements over the summer months and we must thank our incredible team of volunteers who have worked tirelessly to ensure that the stadium is ready for the new season. We sincerely hope that you will enjoy your experience at Prescot Cables Football Club, be it your first or your four hundredth visit to the Joseph Russell Stadium.
Up the Pesky Bulls!
