G&PHC men’s 3 took on old adversaries Deeside Ramblers 5, on the home team’s alternative pitch at Sutton Leisure centre. In a competitive game played in good spirits, both sides created chances in the first period. Deeside shaded possession but neither team could find a breakthrough and went into half team 0-0.
The second half was arguably more even and G&PHC looked the more threatening, but still couldn’t find a breakthrough either from several open play opportunities, or at penalty corners when Dunc Boyd twice came close. In a 10 min spell, Deeside twice found the back of the net to do enough to secure the points. A case of ‘what might have been’ for the home team and despite excellent works rate, no return from the afternoon. Player of the match went to Leon Warren
