The trip to Stalham was technically the reserves second game, but after having to call off the first time they knew only a positive result here would do.

The usual formation was used. Ben Hunt. Aaron Russell, Ashley Queen, Adam Blake, Mick Staples. Bob Taylor, Nick Smith. Reece Last, Daryl Watson, Scott King. James Harden. Subs: James Moore, Luke Davis, Adam Batchelor.

Rangers started brightly and had the better of the play. After a couple of corners looked dangerous the third one paid off. The corner was met at the far post by Ashley Queen, who's header back across goal was poked in by the alert Daryl Watson. Soon after Watson turned provider, this time his corner was met by the head of Adam Blake, doubling Rangers lead. Rangers continued to dominate and just before half time it was 3, a whipped cross from the right hand side was nodded down by Scott King, the ball falling to Harden who had time to take a touch and finish.

Half time, 3-0.

One change at the start of the second half saw Batchelor replace Staples in a straight swap. Rangers were feeling good and it showed in their confident play. 10 minutes into the second half Rangers made their second change, another straight swap saw Moore replace Harden. Moore soon got involved and not long after his introduction had himself a contender for 'goal of the season'. Picking the ball up on the left, beat a couple of players, cutting inside and curling into the far corner from the edge of the box. 4-0. All credit to Stalham they didn't give up and found themselves a goal mid-way through the half. The third and final change saw Davis replace Scott King on the left of the 3. There was still time in the game for a couple more goals. The first going Rangers way, in an almost identical way to the second goal, Watson's corner was headed in by Adam Blake to make it 5, and a brace for Blake. With the minutes whistling away Stalham found themselves a second, but it was too late.

An excellent performance and one which the confidence and good spirit from, will need to be taken into the next game, a tough test against Blakeney.
