A busy week in Priory land including a great win for the Under 10 Greens that see's them through to the YEL Trophy semi final

Priory Celtic Round Up 8th/9th March
It would appear the race for the U18 division two championship is now a two horse race after Priory’s comprehensive 5-2 win away at Southwell on Sunday morning, two goals and a man of the match performance from Angus Wright set them on the way and with rivals Sandiacre Town only managing a draw the title looks now like it’s between Priory and season long rivals Aslockton, there is four games to go and the game between the two teams is scheduled for the last game of the season, we look forward with interest to that game. Playing their first game this year, the Under 16’s claimed three points at home to Mackworth, Joseph Bukraba (2) and James Horton claiming the goals, whilst in the Girls league section the Under 13’s, who also travelled to Southwell, went down 2-1 despite playing with 8 players for the majority of the game.
Rounding up Sunday’s action, the Under 7 Whites travelled to WB Colts, Jeevan Mann winning the man of the match award for the first time and Archie Watson won the award for the Under 7 Greens, in YEL league action the Under 14’s lost 4-1 away at Gotham Rangers whilst the U13 Greens are finding life hard after promotion losing 6-2 at home to Long Eaton United, Elliot Bolt and Joshua Wright on the score-sheet for Adrian Lawes side. The game involving the U12 team had to be cut short due by 8 minutes to a serious injury to one of Radcliffe Olympics players, in true sporting fashion Priory, losing 3-1, allowed the result to stand ensuring the Radcliffe player was treated by the emergency services, the U11 Hoops also lost to Radcliffe Olympic (4-0), Niall Storer put in a man of the match appointment and the Under 8 Hoops awarded the man of the match award to Ethan Coy on his debut after their game at Rolls Royce.
Amongst the games played on Saturday there was two exciting games that ended 2-2, first game played at Kimberley Leisure Centre saw the Under 11 Whites take a two goals lead through a brace from Liam Garner only for their opponents Southwell City to score twice from free-kicks to level the game, whilst a freak goal direct from a corner cost Priory Under 13 White’s three points in their home match with Radcliffe, two goals from Tom Hutton were in vain as the U11 Greens lost 4-2 away at West Bridgford Colts and the U11 Whites went down 4-0 to champions elect West Bridgford Rossoneri. The Under 10 Greens claimed a place in the YEL Trophy after a tense 2-1 away win at Hucknall Sports and, finally the Under 9’s put in their best performance of the year with a great 7-3 win away at Burton Joyce, Jake Dawes stealing the show with a five star haul
Priory’s soccer school for boys and girls of all ability has now grown into two sections (The Greens and The Whites) each Wednesday at the Leisure Centre between 6-7pm on the new 3G pitches – for more information please contact Kev Bonington on 07769211399.
