As you probably already know Neil Hall /Orange is standing down as our Clubhouse Manager at the end of December and Helen Smith will take on the role with support from Zoe Cansfield as Assistant Clubhouse Manager.
The transition has been underway since the beginning of the season and it’s gone very well so the final handover will be seamless and going forward Helen will now your prime point of contact for any matter relating to Clubhouse activities.
Orange is not disappearing and will still be in attendance as cover for shifts as necessary and other ongoing hand overs. Orange has been responsible for an extensive range of duties that most members won’t even realise exist but are nevertheless crucial to the efficient running of the Clubhouse facilities for example the ongoing testing of all the shower systems for Legionnaires or maintenance and regular testing of security systems etc. These are roles that still fall under the remit of the Clubhouse Manager but certainly could be carried out by member volunteers and Orange would be happy to train as needed so if anyone is interested in please let your section Chair or any member of the Management Committee know.
I am sure you will all wish to join me in thanking Neil very much for all his efforts as Clubhouse Manager over the last 12 years and in wishing Helen and Zoe every success, with all of our support and encouragement, going forward.
Best regards
Alex
