Throughout the first half of the season we have enjoyed high numbers and once again, this week was no exception.

Throughout the first half of the season we have enjoyed high numbers and once again, this week was no exception. It is wonderful to have such an enthusiastic group of U6s to work with and the consistency in their attendance is showing with a big jump forward today in the quality of work shown.

The Game “Tag To Cones” was set up with the use of colours which helped the children learn the use of the Defensive Line and the Attacking Arrow Formations which are used when playing a match. These skills were quickly grasped and were brought into play at the end of session match.

A new drill, “Red Arrows”, worked on the children’s passing skills and awareness of team members - and encouragement of their team. Thank you to the coaches for demonstrating it so beautifully!

For the last part of today’s training it was “Match Time”! Big congratulations to Charlie Ferris, Eddie Ragg, Harvey Ray, Jinx Brash, Marcus Mansfield, Sam Couldwell, Tom Martin and Freddie Phillips who represented us with the U7’s, and all played outstandingly well. Their tagging skills and try scoring were second to none.

This weeks’ “Special Mentions” go to Wilson Reynolds for scoring a determined and well worked try in the match and William Mansfield for his continued enthusiasm and involvement.

“Trophy Time!” Alexi Cordiner showed a big increase in effort and confidence throughout todays exercises and match and Joseph Moss, whose attention and listening this week was unrivalled. They also had the honour of being team captains for the first time.

Well done to everybody!
