Pulborough girls put in a fine show across the board at the Worthing 10's, with the u15 Girls doing their bit by winning the Shield.
The Worthing ground was its typical hard baked self, calling for plenty of courage from the girls over 5 very physical matches. The tackling and defensive work was immense, with no shortage of commitment to the tackle, plenty of line speed and much better positioning around the rucks.
The forwards were faster to the breakdown than ever and worked fiercely together to secure the ball for Borough. This then kept our backs out and poised to exploit every bit of space, which we did repeatedly throughout the day.
Solid distribution, good running lines, steps and loops all contributed to the backs enjoying every ball served up to them, with Lottie, Aliya, Fishy, Chloe and Legs getting a hatful of tries between them.
We only lost one game to the eventual cup winners (Basingstoke). We won the Shield final versus Old Alleynians by 5 tries to 2, with Legs Lauren getting a hat-trick of tries from those legs that never stop working.
Both girls and parents were rightly proud of what was an excellent performance founded on great teamwork.
And our 'Parents Pick' for a sparkling performance on the day went to Lottie, who among others things scored 4 tries - superb performance Lottie.
