A depleted 2nd XI travelled to high flying Aston Manor on Saturday and came away with a creditable 8 point draw.

Skipper Adam Evans won the toss and inserted the home side with rain forecast later in the afternoon.

Openers Danny Hall and Terry Cowburn started well without any success and it would be Harry Geyton who would make the breakthrough dismissing Rahim for a rather streaky 40. Geyton would eventually record figures of 4-73 from his 13 overs which included a good battle with Manor's new signing Reddy who he eventually got the better of when he was well caught by Scott Knowles.

Quatt worked hard in the field and the evergreen Garry Knowles set a great standard taking a superb catch and throwing down the stumps for a superb run out. Terry Cowburn bowled well returning figures of 2-53 from his 15 overs.

Aston Manor eventually finished on 261-9 from their 50 overs.

Adam Evans and Elliot Parker continued their excellent recent form putting on 65 for the first wicket before Parker was caught at Gully for 22. Evans continued to dominate the attack and the visitors began to manoeuvre themselves into a position to win the game. Evans was dismissed by the impressive Singh for 64 but this brought Harry Geyton to the crease who is capable of taking the attack apart.

He would smash a superb 38 from just 26 deliveries before being caught and bowled by debutant Reddy. A flurry of wickets followed and despite a valiant attempt, Quatt eventually dug in for a draw. The score remained on 161-8 for 9 overs with young Jon Fletcher and stalwart Kevin Lloyd keeping out the Aston Manor spin attack.

Qcc eventually ended up on 163-9 and picking up 8 points from the journey.
