Quedgeley came out of this game with just a point as they could only draw against a very attacking Chalford side.
In wet sticky conditions the ball was difficult to keep as both teams struggled for any consistency. Quedgeley managed to the work the ball at times but only created a handful of chances. With Tom Hughes and Chris Gooch bringing saves out of the Chalford goalkeeper in the first half. But it was home team who took the lead midway through the first half. A long ball was not dealt with and the Chalford striker was on hand to finish from the edge of the 6 yard box.
Quedgeley kept pushing and trying to play football, Alex Young had the effort of the day, a 25 yard shot tipped round the post as it was heading for the top corner. Half chances came and went then Quedgeley finally got an equaliser; Scott Banner beat 2 men down the right before crossing low for Chris Gooch to finish in off the post.
The final quarter of the game was end to end as both teams went for a winner, in hindsight Quedgeley should have won the game. Will Park missed two chances late on as Quedgeley piled on the pressure and if it wasn’t for the form of the Chalford goalkeeper Quedgeley could have had many more goals.
Overall it was a frustrating performance; Wanderers dominated possession for large parts of the game. But failed to make the ultimate impact in the final third
