Queensbury under 8's have been a team since they were in the tigers group (aged 4 -6). Twice a week they train and learn basic skills, discipline, respect and most importantly have lots of fun and make friends for life. Recently the team have had to deal with hand-me-down kits from the older aged groups.

Their new coach Matthew Flanagan contacted Leo Group to see if he could get some funding for the new kits. Mr Flanagan, a local resident of Queensbury community has played Rugby most of his life and has a real passion for it. His son had recently joined Queensbury Rugby Juniors ARLFC as Mr Flanagan had previously played for Queensbury and he felt this was the best team for his son to join. Within a few weeks Mr Flanagan was asked to help out and before he knew it he was on a level two coaching course. After meeting with Mr Flanagan and seeing his commitment for the team, Leo Group agreed to sponsor the team’s kit wear and playing kit.

Matthew Flanagan coach of Queensbury under 8’s said “Over the time we have played and returned to club houses after matches, we have been envious of other teams with their smart team wear that they changed into. With the Leo Group’s kind and generous sponsorship, we now have our very own hoodies, tracksuit bottoms and polo shirts to wear after games”.

The new kit will do more than just make the team look smart, it will give the young rugby players more confident and a sense of pride, Mr Flanagan continued “For the Leo Group to sponsor our new kit means so much to us as previously we didn’t have enough kits to go around. We are proud of our club and team and want to be proud of our kit too. For each of us to walk out on game day with our own kits and numbers makes us full of pride and encourages us to play to our very best ability.”
