The Club are super proud of our coach, Brian Wilkinson, who has won the FA Grassroots Football Award for work with young people with disabilities in conjunction with the Seashell Trust.

Brian single-handedly built the CADS (Children's Able and Disabled Sports) club over a decade ago, and has seen over 100 young people come through the sessions, from a very young age, to teenage years and beyond. Adam Brown has been involved for many years too and, working alongside Brian, Adam also deserves great recognition for all his efforts.

CADS football provides unique opportunities to disabled children, young adults and their families. Disabled children love football as much as able-bodied children, but without CADS would have no outlet. Equally it contributes to their physical and social development. Sessions cater for young people between 5 and 25 years old that cannot cope in a main stream club and just want to play football / meet new friends.

The Seashell Trust refers many young people to the sessions, which are run by Brian and Adam twice a week. They create such a welcoming atmosphere that all who participate are able to achieve what they seek to achieve.

Lives touched are numerous; S could barely walk when he first started attending as a 7 year old; now 8 years later he can do hundreds of keepy-uppies; P suffered from social anxiety and never left home; CADS gave him social confidence and 5 years later he attends school. During sessions, parents also get an opportunity to meet and share their tough life situations.

Without Brian and Adam's commitment, this opportunity would not exist for our local community. Brian, and Adam are vital role models for us all.
