Rainworth MWFC are sad to announce the resignation of their manager Lewis Saxby due to personal reasons and the club respect his decision.

Lewis made his resignation in a letter to the club and wishes us to publish the transcript:

Les,
As of the 24th June I have resigned from my position as manager of Rainworth Miners Welfare football club due to personal reasons.

Having spent 7 years in management without a break and after having the opportunity to spend more time with my family during Coronavirus I feel the time is right to extend that break. I realise that with a young family growing up time is precious, and I want to spend more of it with them. My eldest son will also be playing Academy football next season and I want to try and give him my full attention during his first year. The time will also be used to sort out some of my own personal issues during this sabbatical.

This was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, as Rainworth MWFC is a club I loved being at. I would like to thank Les and all the committee for their support during my tenure. In my opinion they stand alone as the best committee in local football. I would like to wish the club all the best going forward and hope that I will be down at the ground to watch games when I can.

Sax

We would like to place on record our gratitude for all Lewis has done for the club and will be forever grateful, we wish him well in his future ventures.
The club will now be looking to appoint a new manager as soon as possible.

All applicants to send their CV by Monday 29th June to:
