Ramgarhia Slough 1 V Leighton Buzzard 3.

Another trip up the M1 saw Ramgarhia play a strong Leighton Buzzard (LB) side, Ramgarhia had only 11 players after a last minute withdrawal, knowing they were in for a tough game. Playing in white, the away side started poorly with Leighton Buzzard pressing high up the pitch and retaining possession with consummate ease. It was evident Ramgarhia were struggling to keep the ball and there gaps started to between their defence and midfield which LB exploited on a regular basis, it was soon 1-0 to the home side after a scramble in the D. LB sensed they could get more goals and goals 2 and 3 came on quick succession. Ramgarhia’s forwards found it difficult to get into the game, as a result having to drop deeper in an attempt to try and get on the ball. LB again broke up the pitch to score a 4th just before half time leaving Ramgarhia stunned at the interval.
Honest words and a bit of sole searching meant Ramgarhia could only do better in the second half and did improve with good play between Veer Patel and Pappu Athwal, creating a chance for the latter but the LB keeper stood firm to keep the play maker at bay. Even the normally reliable short corner routine for Ramgarhia did not bare any goals,Kuljit Bhachu going close on 3 occasions,  leaving the home side frustrated- it just didn’t seem their day! The scoreline was now irrelevant, pride was at stake, a better 2nd half display resulted in conceding 2 more goals. It was an excellent defensive and attacking display from LB, playing the game Ramgarhia are so familiar with.
It is said you learn more from a defeat than a win, Ramgarhia will certainly hope this is the case and look forward to the next game.
