The Reds get their Cheshire Plate campaign underway this weekend with a trip to Prenton.
Prenton is out on the Wirral and the nearest famous town is Tranmere (Tranmere Rovers footy ground is actually called Prenton Park) and over the years we've played them a number of times. Like us, Prenton aren't currently in the Leagues and are playing in a North West Regional comp along with other of our former rivals including Oldershaw, Ruskin Park, Mossley Hill, Wallasey and Port Sunlight. This means that they'll be no slouches.
We're missing "The Irish Oak" but Liver, Smokin Joe and Kyle will all deputise for the front row. Meechs brings Freddie into the back row and he'll partner his ex-mullet mate Ryan "the better" Wren on the flank. Blondie Dan comes in at ten and the back line looks and feels much like last season.
Our powerful bench includes two league vets in Fintan and JFW who have over 300 appearances between them so there's plenty of nouse waiting in the wings...............ah OK, there's Johnny's nouse and Fintan waiting in the wings!!
