Leiston St. Margarets 1 Ransomes Sports 4

Ransomes Sports deservedly earned three points in a 4-1 win at Junction Meadow to complete an early season double over basement side Leiston St. Margarets leaving the home side still searching for their first points of the campaign. Ransomes started brightly and took a 6th minute lead through the rejuvenated Tye Webb. Played in by a clever pass from Ben Deacon, the strikers confidence was evident as he calmly rounded the keeper to side foot home.
With Ransomes always looking dangerous and likely to add to their tally, out of the blue, the home side were level 10 minutes later A wayward pass across the face of goal went straight to Szylzszyk and his excellent hit from outside the box flew past Callum Deacon who was at full stretch.
Ransomes then went on to dominate the remainder of the half with Nay Woollard heading wide and then Luke Winter flashed a drive across the face of the goal following an Adam Todd corner. Saints goalkeeper Whiting then made outstanding saves from both Tye Webb and Luke Winter before Ransomes forged into an inevitable lead on 43 minutes. Nay Woollard was the provider as his lay back set up Luke Winter to drive home into the roof of the net from just inside the penalty area. As the half ended, Whiting again denied Tye Webb with a fine save.
Ransomes continued their grip on the game throughout the second half and dominated without reward. Whiting again denied Ransomes with an excellent save from Adam Todd's low angled drive and then, the same player should have done better after 58 minutes but blazed over from a good position. Substitute franco Mallardo then struck the post from the edge of the box and Adam Todd shot straight at Whiting when through on goal.
A third goal eventually came on 82 minutes with Nay Woollard again claiming the assist, finding Ben Deacon with a threaded through ball. The striker finished with a ruthless drive from outside the box after it looked as if the initial chance had been passed up. At the other end, Shelton shot wide under pressure and then drew a fine save from Callum Deacon low to his left.
The scoring was completed in the 90th minute when Danny Allen's low cross from the left was cleverly steered home by Drew Connick to register his first goal for the club since joining from Brantham three weeks ago.
Ransomes then saw out the closing minutes of added time but it was a topsy-turvey performance by the visitors. At times, they were genuinely brilliant in their attacking play, playing with fire and pizzazz, but there were occasions when they looked sketchy and loose with their passing, inviting Leiston St. Margarets to believe they could salvage something from this game. Any fear of this however, was quashed emphatically and I don't think anyone could complain about the final score-line.
